Just added a new Husqvarna 395xp  8) to my collection with 20 inch bar, 0.058 gauge. Needed a bigger brother for my Rancher 460xp II. We have big logs here in Sweden to cut and the Rancher has a hard time. Will check out if a larger bar is needed. But with the short bar I want the power since we have oaks in the area. This saw will make it.

Got the 395 from Pantano Power equipment for $ 1100.00 delivered incl. a second chisel chain. Advertised price was around $1250.00. The saw is in shipment right now. Will pick it up when I in the US the next time in August.

Here in Europe the 395 is around 1600.00 Euros (add 8 % to convert to USD).  >:( For this money i can buy at Pantano a 3120xp (but way too big).

Husqvarna allows to attach 0.050 chains or 0.058 chains. In Europe the 0.058 chains are common. My source here is www.kox-direct.de. Very good quality, very good pricing.

I usually run chisel chains on my saws sometimes semi chsisel, when the wood is dirty. As gas I use acylat pre-mixed for the last tank fill and reqular 95 octane 1:50 mix. The acyat gas has the advantage to be environment friendly, better for the user and can be stored long term without trouble. Also the ethanol is no problem here.

I requested pricing from Baileys and Pantano. Panatano replied even on indepence day, agreed on the price above plus chain. Baileys contacted two times, no reply.

Above I am just describing how my purchase went and I am very happy. I am not a Pantamo employee, just a satisfied customer.

Hi Steve,

yes, i will give her time to run in. Did the same with the Rancher 460. Plan to do some training cuts on some firewood logs before cutting a tree. Learn to walk, before to run....

The 395XP is a nice strong saw.  I run mine with a 32" GB bar, and the saw puts out plenty of oil for that bar.  Compared to the 395XP, my 562XP seems stingy with the oil, even with the oiler set to max.

Is your oil pump adjustable? The one I tested earlier, had that feature. Husquarnas web site says its automatic, the manual says its adjustable. We will see how mine is, its in shipment.

Yes, the oiler is adjustable on both the 395XP and the 562XP.  The 562 just puts out less oil (even when set to max).  It's theoretically enough for a 20-28" bar, (6-15 ml/min of oil for the 562XP), vs 15-20 ml/min for the 395XP), but I'd prefer more oil even when running a 20" bar.

I've got a spare 562XP oil pump here at home, and I may modify it to put out more oil.  Others have done this in the past with different Husky saw models.  The modification involves grinding the end of the oil pump's piston to a slightly more severe angle from the stock 82 degrees to something like 80 degrees.

Hi Cruffler,

thanks a lot for your answer. I like it to adjust the pump to have sufficient oil on the bar when its longer. My 460 Rancher uses more oil as recommended, but the chain stays good as the chain. Run the saw with 20 inch bar with setting for 24 inch, similar as you do. Will do the same with the 395.

I bought a used 395 that came with a 24" bar which feels pretty balanced to me.  I also have a 36" bar and the saw really shines with it on in my opinion.  If it wasn't unbalanced with the 36", I'd probably just leave it on there all the time.

Thanks a lot. I have to figure out what bar(s) I have to add later on. Its good to know what the saw is balanced with these bars. Nothing counts, but experience.  :)
