 Iv had this idea for awhile now about replacing the worn out hand setworks on my lane mill with modern computer set controls. the closest thing I can find that looks like it would work well and be fairly easy to install is the meadowmills analog setworks. do any of you guys have any experience that can point me in the right direction. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A bare minimum would be to get digital feedback of where the carriage is, and then work from there to control the drive for moving the carriage. Seems to me... ;)

The several forum members building their numerical controls for routers should be able to help quite a bit, I'd think. Several here who are good at this game.

If you can tell or know exactly where the carriage is at, you should be able to use a computer to go to that location or another one.
