Al, same with me but my low end is aspen and that has put a lot of heat into my house over the years.

Those charts can be all over the place. Obviously, the weight and available btus will vary by moisture content.

Wood is like the equipment you have. 
Use what you have.
It still gets the job done, even if it takes longer or uses more.
If you really what to burn junk wood, get an OWB. I burned white pine just about all one winter. 
I have burned a lot of cedar too.
