Title: Geometrical Building Design Intensive workshop
Post by: Jim_Rogers on March 05, 2014, 02:57:12 PM
In June there will be an intensive workshop where the participants will learn how to create a timber frame using geometrical layout.

Here is some info about the project:

Follow a geometrically designed octagonal hardwood frame from start (a pair of dividers) to finish (an open air pavilion for the community of Knoxville)...
Expand your knowledge of medieval frame design, compound roofs & hand tools.

Attached is a pdf with more info and pictures of the project.

I have personally met Laurie Smith and he is quite an interesting fellow.

If you are interested in learning the real old way of designing and laying out timbers without a tape measure or ruler, this is the workshop for you.
