Cutting up a gnarly eucalyptus. Cold saw as you can tell by the plunge cut and the 4/2 stroking at the beginning of the cut. Oregon 20LPX filed with a 7/16" file.

EDIT: Sorry folks, just realized I made a typo. 7/16 should be 7/32"

I apologize for the misinformation.

It is actually a 3/16" file and it's from Stihl. (This file btw cuts like nobody's business.)

I thought I had used the 7/32" file from the HD.

It enlarged the cutter on the .325 and it seems to work just fine.

Try this and see what you think. If you get the same results I did for SOFT wood cutting. NOT for hardwood.  Get a loop of .325 Stihl RS and use a 7/32 file to sharpen it instead of 3/16.
Heck you may like the .325 RS stock with the 3/16 cutter for hardwoods.

I agree. I haven't tried it, but I bought two files that were 7/32" and a bit bigger than 3/16" that I had plans for doing on the next sharpening.

I have two stock loops from Oregon .325 that I have kept the cutter stock. I'll keep them stock for hardwood cutting like you mentioned. Thank you for the info.

Here is that woods ported 5100 with rev limiter I told you about and running 3/8 050 full chisel square chain.  Gink just ran it at the Ind GTG. All of the saws were woods ported and the 260 even went as far as to run a 044 carb.
