New member here. I'm planning a small timber framed garden shed, most likely with an ~ 8 x 10 footprint. I'd like to use mostly Japanese joinery. I can handle the joinery for the sill and posts and plates, but the roof is another matter. I have in mind an irimoya style roof, which is similar to a Dutch hip roof. Can anyone point me to some design resources for the joinery involved and ways to lay it out? Or at least sources for western framing a Dutch hip roof?
"Measure and Construction of the Japanese House" seems to have a good section on rooves (pp86-96).
Cheers,
JT
Thanks for the tip. Found it, and that search led me to some other sources as well.
