The wind from the storm split the old maple, one half landed on the road. My cousin came along with a skid steer and got it off the road. Looks like firewood cut'n this weekend.  ffwave

Well it was 85° today and I didn't need no firewood to cut, but the mess had to be delt with. I got the brush all cleaned up and hauled off and most of what I want to salvage until them bees quiet down. There's still another 12 feet I could cut into to see if it is good in the middle. I suspect a lot in there is doty. There's bees on the fat end of the log and bees up in the tree. The dark mass in the end of that log is bees. That's ~30" across the log end.  ffsmiley

There's a piece of honeycomb up in the tree, at the top of that break, bees on it.

Came in at 8:30 tonight from mowing the lawn. It was a dark 8:30 too and a warm one even at 72°.
Took a shower and the wife is mad because I used all the cold water.  :wacky:

Been in a long spell of hot, humid and wet weather. Wet but not a lot of rain if that makes any sense. Any work outside is uncomfortable, even in the morning. I want to do some logging but it is going to have to wait until things cool off. But at least the garden loves this weather.
Family birthday party today here. I guess we'll be inside. Chance of showers this morning, showers and thunderstorms likely this afternoon.

Some bee keepers from the church across the road came for the honey bees. They will return tonight after dark for their box hive, hopefully get as many as they can get in their new home.

74° here today, the air has changed a lot since the weekend, RH is 47%. Was a nice day to work in. Got the the upstairs windows wide open, nice little breeze. Looks like we could get some thunder clappers, skies getting darker. Suppose to be dry the rest of the week.

I don't post in this thread often.  Our weather isn't very extreme but on rare occasions.

But TS Debby is here.  It's 71 degrees F with heavy rain.

We are getting 20 mph plus sustained winds with gusts to 45 mph.  Not so extreme but coupled with already wet ground and going on 2" of rain and 2"-4" more expected, we will have trees down, power outages and flooding in some areas that don't often.

As far as flooding, I won't see any at our home.  We sit atop a ridge 1,125 feet elevation.  The wind will be a concern.

My son has been getting a driveway for his home build site.  We are worried about erosion damage in the grading area.  There's just so much silt fences and settlement basins can do with overwhelming rain.

Well, I hope the impact is the least possible down there. We will have some rain off it up here, but not a devastating amount. Normally we get an inch or two off tropical depressions up this far.

Today is calm and sunny, 75° and RH of 40%.

Almost made it through Debby without anything problematic but the power went out about 8:10 pm.

Turns out it's just the line that runs 2/10 of a mile to our house.   There are others without power in pockets of greater numbers in our area.  I suspect we'll be down the list.    Right now Duke Energy is saying tomorrow night by 11:45 pm.

We will wait until morning to start the generator.

We have had some trees fall across the road.  The fire department has cleared them.

It has been hot here, so I have tried to get up early to work in the am.  But work has been crazy, and I came down with a lingering cold.  the kind that makes your eyes burn and you just want to go back to bed.  today is 59 to start.  maya rain this weekend.  I should be able to work, as i have sneezed, but by head seems clear (not foggy).  However, should get rain this weekend.  Need to get the outside stuff done and work inside during the rain.
