New Member Intro - Southern California - Edward G
« on: April 13, 2014, 05:36:45 PM »
Hi,

My name is Edward. I am a new member to the forum. I live in Southern California having recently relocated from Nevada. I love the outdoors and am an avid hunter. I have hunted everything from birds to big game using everything from a shotgun, high power rifle, to a muzzleloader). I love equipment. I have worked in printing (owned a letterpress shop), aerospace (as a designer as a NASA contractor), and for a general contractor producing trade shows (creative director). Did I say I love equipment and machinery? So much so that I design and manufacture some as a hobby (although it is turning into a business). My wife is an AstroPhysicist so she keeps me on my toes. We met launching high altitude meteorological balloons to near space www.flyapple.org. I love off roading and am an amateur radio operator (HAM). I love APRS. I joined this forum because I saw quite a bit of comments on Capstan Winches, a topic I am very interested in. Can't wait to learn more...

Ed

Ed, Welcome to the forum.
Capstan winches are an interesting subject, I have used them in many applications and can say first hand that a capstan winch will save you time and money in the woods and anywhere you need to winch something out. Our sponsor Logrite sells a nice one and they can fix you up with a kit of accessories to go along with it. http://www.logrite.com/store/Item/capstan-winch
Feel free to message me and I can give you a few pointers if you like.
