can't live with them :(  (allergies), so I love everyone else's dogs for small periods of time as often as I can running-doggy

My 1/2 ton truck cab is full of dog hair and dog nose prints on the windows.
I wouldn't have it Any other way :)

Live with 5 1/2 dogs, 5 large ones and a jack Russell (was the runt of the litter to boot) could insulate the entire house with a weeks worth of hair removed, I swear they should all be bald by now with the amount of hair accumulated consistently, of course wouldn't change a bit of it for anything, they make the house a home for the whole family.

Good for you.
I like dog hair in the house too.

We ended up putting a giant air cleaner in the living room and disguising the cleaner as a couch/bench. It is the larger Jet  woodshop air cleaner and works great . It is mind blowing how much the filter picks up when operating. We love all of our kids, and yes I'm allergic to dog hair......

Millie the Shih-Tzu doesn't shed thank goodness but the cat made up for it. Hair on the table, hair in my bed, hair EVERYWHERE! :( A year after she was gone I was still finding hair.

She's a german shepherd, or mostly. Looks to be about 2 but only 45 lbs of skin and bones. I think there's been some mistreatment, but I think she's figured out she's home.

I rescued Smiley and she knows it.
When she figured out she wasn't leaving she took over :)
She's on me like glue, wants to be every place I'm at.

Sampson, my world famous catfish treeing, ATV riding, first mate on my boat and Flea Market shopping partner is parked at his normal spot on the rug in front of the love seat. He is about a 13 lb Rat Terrier and scared of almost every critter out there, unlike many terriers who think they can whip their weight in leopards. Becky says he is autistic because he gets very upset if we move something in or around the house. He barks at her truck if she backs in to her normal parking space instead of parking straight in and perish the thought I might ever park my truck there by mistake! He loves to climb on my log pile and figures cut lumber in my air drying shed will sell much quicker with dog paw prints on it instead of just plain wood. He has discovered my moving blankets I keep to protect my benches when I take a load to market make great bedding. Fortunately he is short haired and does not noticeably shed in the house.

That breaks my heart. My dog came from a breeder who was good to her but no idea of her history prior to that. She is fearful of everybody but me, older women in particular. She would not go near Karen for 6 weeks, almost another year before she would seek attention.

Bruno,

I hate it when I see a scared dog because it tells me he has been abused and neglected. Often they will snap at people and get put down because of it. Sampson was about 9 months old when I got him. He had never been abused but he was also never socialized - the owner just put out food and water and never petted or played with the litter of puppies. He lived with a wide assortment of other animals and there was a hen sitting on a nest of eggs in the stall where he was penned up when I got him so he he was obviously not a threat to such. Sampson never tried to bite or snap at anyone but he basically will only let me and my wife touch him although after a short visit the grandkids can pet him. My wife always had German Shepherds and did not like small dogs but the first thing he did was win her over. He now has her very well trained and people who know her are amazed when they see her get him a treat or such.

Well, Jasmine is coming along. She took to Michelle cautiously yesterday but was much less enthused about me. All our dogs have been rescues of one sort or another and they often have more trouble accepting men. We haven't had one in a couple of years and missed the company. She went to work with Michelle today and it was farmers market pickup day so she met lots of people and did pretty good. I was in truck driving school all day and got home about an hour ago. She was sprawled out on her quilt pretty pooped so I crawled over and we had some good petting time. She's perked back up, wanted to go out and is hanging out on the porch now so she's settling in.

Dog hair Boy do we have dog hair, our dog is a 11 year old Springer spaniel and we get a new dog about every 2 weeks its unbelievable. Jake is a great dog and my wife will clip him when it warms up but till then we vacuum every day. But I would have a hard time not having a dog in the house. Randy

Dog hair I have all the dog hair you will ever need I've been in this house for 14 years and there has been up to 5 dogs at one time we are now down to 2 and one 13 year old cat

At one time we thought about refinishing our hardwood floors. It didn't take much contemplation into that to know that we could never get this place hair free enough to accomplish that without having a hairy urethane finish. So if they get bad enough, we'll just cover it up with one of the new looks like wood products, or better yet, live with worn hardwood floors. I'm good with that.

No dog or cat hair in my house only people hair and that is getting less and less as the years (months) go by.

My wife and I have had dogs in the house all of our lives and old Jake is one of the best we have had he has been a great grouse hunter and a joy to have around so I guess he will be shedding in the house for as long as he is alive . Randy

Don P

This was our last dog, he was big, sweet and a walking hairball :), I doubt we'll ever get all of his fur out of the house. We saw the truck that dropped him off as a pup roar away. Dropped him off right before a snowstorm, some people >:(. Our gun shy black and tan, who had apparently failed hunting training, ran down and brought him back up to the house.

I don't think Jasmine will be too bad for shedding. Michelle was home today so they had a good time working in the garden and walking around. I'm still too much for her if standing but we're good if I'm laying on the floor, even more so if I have some treats :D.

This Mitzi, the dog, and Gracie Kate, the cat.  The other dog, Dixie, and two ther cats are somewhere else in the house.  Dog hair and cat hair are a way of life here.  The robot vacuum runs daily and we vacuum with the regular vacuum once a week.

Well yeah there is a coyote there now that you mention it. She doesn't shed.  It was the first one I harvested and I got it with an Xbow. Coyotes aren't native to NC and I try to reinforce that on the local population frequently.  It is mounted in the position I first saw it chasing a fox squirrel.  At some point I plan to harvest a fox squirrel and complete the scene.

Jasmine is getting ever so slightly more comfortable around me, looks like its been about 12 days so still early. We are fine with me laying on the floor so the back of my sweatshirt is furry. If I am upright she bolts and paces to avoid me. She is fine with Michelle, they can run around and play easily, except no sticks. She is the same around most guys, her previous owner must have been a piece of work.  Very sweet, she's just going to take some time. She did get into a little mischief this week, Michelle brought home a fresh loaf of bread a friend had made. She set it on the counter and went upstairs for a minute, oh yeah :D. Can't blame her, I've had Abby's bread many times musteat_1

non shedding dogs is a wonderful experience.  Ours have been rescues but I could not go back to shedding dogs.  In fact our largest is not really a non shedding -it is a komondor so the hair forms dreadlocks we just shave off once or twice a year.  The little one is a 18 year old mutt that is part bichon and has never shed at all.  We don't have hair anywhere but a few clumps from the komondor, too heavy to float around and easy to vac up.

I became a dog owner for the first time last April.  Miss Gigi sheds all over the house and barn.  The missus uses a Dyson V11 Torque Drive to vacuum and pick up the hair.  She has to show me every time how much hair she collected.  I keep telling her to save it and we can make a new mattress.  :D

After having her now for nearly a year, I wouldn't have it any other way.  She is a great companion.

great! now they prob. will not let me buy beer at the liquor store!!! :D :D :D my wife says the same and that it takes off about 30 pounds, so I still have about 30 pounds to go!  my wife has never cared much for my beard, but have had one every year since 1980.  mid October till about Jan. 1.  until my son was doing winter camping in boy scouts, and I thought, "why am I shaving this thing off now, it is still cold."  but I got a little early start this year and I am usually ready to shave about now.  I like the Brad Paisley song, I'm gonna miss her!
