Tammy and I are trying to make preliminary plans for the Forum pig roast and get together in August. We would like to get a rough idea on how many folks might attend.

If this works, you should be able to pick one of the top three selections and then pick number of people in your group.

Sorry I can't come Jeff. August is sweet corn season, and it doesn't pick itself. Now if I can get away I'll bring along some of the sweetest corn you've ever had. It might even convince you to move east to PA.

I love that stuff they sell here they call peaches and cream. Grown locally and its pretty sweet.

Here is a list of places to stay in the area. I'll repost again when we have a more official announcement. If you are coming, I would make arrangements soon. That time of year can get busy here. We are a resort town and the county seat. That weekend is the last weekend for our county fair. The snug haven lodge listed below is on Bud Lake and is walking distance to our house.

Am I correct that there is a small airport in Harrison?

Does anyone know anything about the new ferry that crosses Lake Michigan from Milwaukee?  Is it in operation and where does it go?

Jeff,

The Lovley Miss, The Road King and I are planning on the trip.

Now you know I enjoyed sleeping in the attic of the cabin but if Celest and I wanted to stay in one of the nicer places near you whch would you pick? The cabins sound interesting, so does the B&B.

Well, the carriage house inn they say is nice. Thats just through the woods from me. Very close. Snug haven is a nice looking resort right on the water. Also very close. Ya gotta remember, I live here so I never stayed in any of them. I did tour the Carriage house Inn a few years ago and it was quite nice.

Noble,
I have info on the new ferry at home, give me a day or so and I'll give you what I can find.
I think it will start operating in June, but let me look.

Furby

Noble,
I could only find one article and I can't find a link for it.  :-/
The article says that the new ferry should start operating the first part of June. It will be about a two hour trip at 40 mph.
I can't find the article that had the expected fares listed, sorry.
I do have the website of the new ferry, but it comes up as "under construction", so you'll have to check back.

Thanks Furby,

Do you know where the ferry docks in Michigan?
