One correction on the stool....The screw is made of maple not oak!
Wow! What a team effort!
That right there is awesome! The burl is outstanding. You folks did a mighty fine job putting this together. Some lucky bidder is going to have a real treasure. :)
You guys like to sneak stuff by in the middle of the night. ;)
WOW! That stool is beautiful! Good job Steve 8)
Very nice work guys! smiley_clapping smiley_clapping smiley_clapping smiley_thumbsup

Wow.
Steve, that really came out well! I'm sure that the photo's don't do it justice.
Scott
Outstanding!!!!!!!
Guys I hate to say this but Patty has decided to bid on this stool. Now if she would happen to not get the winning bid I'm sure she'd start crying....how many of you would want to be responsible for that. ;D
Maybe you should just donate the pig, might be cheaper. 8)
Boy that burl is nice! Wish I had a place to put that stool. But I sure wouldn't want to see Norm's Patty cry.
Awesome job everyone!!! 8)

NOT ME!! So you better start feedin' her cash :D :D
So Norm......the message I got from your post is that I should bid the heck out of that stool. It's a win - win - win! The pig gets paid for, Patty gets her stool, and you're forced to just keep smiling when you think about how much money she just spent!
I think that TR may have it right. Just go out and buy the pork. You'll spend less. ;D ;D
It's a really nice piece of work. I was thinking about bidding heavily, but now that I've found out the screw is made of maple instead of oak....... :D :D
Scott!!!!!
How dare you, and after I tried to appeal to your softer side. :D
Careful Doc, she may be a ringer. ;D
Norm
Hadn't thought of that. :o :o

Gosh Norm, the previous high bidder before mine was "
sugarplum"; I had no idea that was you in disguise..... :D
Scott, it wasn't apple dumpling? :D :D
You know me Scott never too manly to show my feminine side. :D
Norm, my favorite side of you is BBQ. :o
And that side "wern't" feminine. :o
sorry Patty, I'm in and I want it >:(
Guess I should say sorry Norm ;D

All that I can say is that NEITHER one of you guys looks like a "sugerplum" to me.... :D I wonder who else is bidding on thing thing?
I just went to bid, and WHOA! Darn Norm, you're not fooling around here, are you? :o
That Norm he don't fool around much ;D
I guess he's saying do you want it or not? :D :D :D
Right now would be a good place to "inject" summa that Doctor money ;) ;)
It's all good! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Roxie you have a one-track mind there girl! :D I am kinda partial to the BBQ side as well. ;)
I think our little Sugarplum got the ball rolling now! Go Norm! smiley_blue_bounce
She certainly did but PLEASE do not bid against me. :D
I just went to check on the bidding and fell off my stool!
I think there is a little wiggle room left. ;D

Man, that's worth another hundred bucks of bidding alone! :D
I think I'm going into the STOOL business!
Very nice work and some exciting bidding! 8)
Gitting out of the pork price range, looks like caviar and filet minon! :o
Gday
Awesome Stool and I knew I wanted it before i even saw it :) ;) ;) :D :D Now how do I put a bid on this beauty ??? sorry Patty :(
Regards Chris
Why do I get the feeling Meadows Miller figured out how to put his bid in and had a bit of an awakening? :o ;D
A slow boat sail_smiley or a fast horse smiley_horserider is not going to work for him. I really think that he needs to save up for a plane ticket. air_plane
I thought about throwing a bid out there but decided I'd like to remain married ;).
That is a FINE looking stool! The curve and strength of the legs., the proportions of the seat and color and grain contrast between seat, screw and collar are all of the finest. A great bit of collaboration. You should be proud.
My hats off to the fellows that built this stool!!! Excellent craftsmanship , I like it very much ;)...
Dave
Impressive stool and impressive bidding. You folks are awesome.
Its thrilling to know that for the first time ever for an upcoming pigroast, Tammy and I do not have to worry and fret on how we are going to pay for things. :)
Burlkraft-
While I would love to own that stool, at this point the doctor money will just have make a donation to the pig roast. I guess this is as good a time as any to let my buddies on the FF know that I won't be joining you in August for that expensive (or free - depends on how you look at it!) pig. My family and I will be going to London for the Summer Olympics. My best friend is a director for NBC sports, and he runs their Olympic coverage. This will be his last one he's going to do for them, so the window to do this is closing. Furthermore, my kids are growing up and this would be a very grand family vaca for us. Once they get into their 20's, I am not sure how many family outings we can piece together as their schedules get busier and busier.
I missed the Pig Roast last year with my total hip, so I regret not being able to attend and meet you all in person this year. As the Baltimore Ravens said.....maybe next year. While I am thrilled to be going to the Olympics, I would also like to see everybody in the Forum family.
So, no, the doctor is not buying the stool, but he will contribute to the party!
I was pretty bummed when Bobby told me awhile back he wasn't going to be able to come, but I'm warning everyone in advance, that if my campaign to have doctorb adopt me and take me along with him to the Olympics is successful, I won't be at the pigroast either so that puts Burlkraft in charge of cooking da pig.
How's things looking on the adoption proposal "Dad"? ;D

She certainly did but PLEASE do not bid against me. :D
Well Norm, are you going to jump back in? At six and a quarter, I think that I'm gonna fold...
On the other hand, if I had your money I'd still be bidding! :D ;D
Jeff-
My NBC friend has been giving me grief, in jest, that I am not taking my oldest daughter's boyfriend with us! Believe me, I would much rather have you along. If somehow he did come with us, I'd rather be at the Pig Roast!
So, if I said you had a one in a million chance of being adopted for the Olympics, you could say, "At least I gotta chance!" Do they speak yooper in London? :D
It's lookin good! 8) My Mom used to say I was one in a million.
Thinking that through a bit though, she usually started that sentence by saying Jeffrey and ending with a shake of her head. :-\
That's ok Doc. I'd got to the Olympics too!! Especially on those credentials ;) ;)
That stool would make a great exam table stool..... ;D
Are ya gonna see the Queen? Last time Jill and I were through there we missed her by an hour or so at the Palace.
Ya gotta send some pics of fish & chips...I love British fish & chips.........

Doctorb - I can not tell you just how many times I got myself in big trouble because I made that same statement a little too load and it got overheard by someone - one of the 3 daughters. So, I know exactly what you are saying.

That's where it all began wasn't it? At least as far back as the war because an old war vet I knew talked about how good they was when he was over there in war time. ;D
They don't make good fish dinners of any kind here in NB. The worst you ever ate at most places. :/ Best places I had fish was in Maine, Quebec and west coast BC.
To ALL who had a part in the construction of a this beautiful stool AND to ALL the bidders.......WOW!!!!
WHAT AN AUCTION!

Congrats, OkMulch!!!
I would like to thank the crew that built that fine piece of art. It really is awesome!!! Also all the other people bidding it was a lot of fun going back and forth.
I am especially proud to have won, not only for the stool itself, but for taking the financial burden off of Jeff and Tammy for this years hog roast. They do such an exceptional job of hosting every year and deserve every penny of the $625 dollars!
I can not wait until August and can enjoy the pig along with all the other forum members. 8) 8)
A huge thank you to OK, and congratulations on your new stool. It's a winner as well you are OK. And thanks to all who worked on making it such a special item. It's a Win!, Win!, Win!
Norm
The stool is really beautiful. Congratulations and Thanks for keeping it a very interesting auction. :)
Aaron,
That stool would make an awesome door prize ::).

Shame on your Danny, :D :D :D
Aaron, yer the man. Thank you, And thanks to Everyone that had a hand in creating the stool and providing materials, and bidding in the auction, but special thanks to my brother Steve. :)
that's funny
I'm gettin' in late here, but A Huge Thank You all the bidders and especially Aaron 8) 8) 8)
I was happy to help put this together along with Jeff and Tammy at LogRite and Scott Smith. It was his inspiration and offer of a nut and screw
that really brought it together.
Over the years I have found out that pig roast goes way beyond the pig. Jeff and Tammy do a lot more than you see to put this thing on.
Maybe this year we can take the financial burden off and then all they gotta do is all the work!! :D :D :D
It was a great auction and it was great to be part of a little artisic collaboration with some fellow Forumites ;D ;D
Does that mean I'm in the will?
Mine? Yea, I'm leaving you the mill. ;)
I heard that you was like a Granddaddy to him, so I suspect that you are :D.
Anyway we convince OK to bring the stool to the pig roast?...so we can all "pat the pig" stool?

Steve, thanks for the acknowledgement. You sure did an outstanding job on the design and assembly; I think that it turned out much better than the original design concept. The Logrite components really added a cool dimension, and your burl seat was incredible!
We'll have to collaborate on something again.
Aaron, a big "thank you" to you as well for the great support of the pigroast. I figured that it would sell for a couple of hundred bucks (hopefully to me!), but Norm kinda quashed that fantasy and then you really blew everybody away.
I'm glad that all of us could help reduced the burden on Jeff and Tammy for this year's pig roast. Maybe I can get my act together and finally make it this year.
Scott
Awesome stool, awesome forum auction participants!! 8)
Way to go Aaron!
Well I'm a little bummed I missed out getting on here last night but it's great to see it's going to a good home. Awesome work guys, it's a beautiful piece of art. :)

Scott,
Go NIKE on us and "Just Do It!"
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. This was a fun auction to be associated with knowing that it is a win ,win situation.
Burlkraft says I get to name the pig now, so I am thinking juniperus PIGiana!!
It is in the family, Sowaceace :D.
