 Am helping build a kiln and the man want's to put plywood over his four inches of starfome insolation ??? I think it is a waste of plywood what you think and if he does does it need to be painted  ??? Help i'm dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to this ::) ::)

I followed Nyle's design and I'm happy with the results.Plywood and then a good kiln coating will help keep the condensation from passing through the walls and will protect the insulation from damage.

I just line my poly sheets with 1200 damp proof sheeting, then with hard board to keep the boards off the insulation, has worked in all the kilns I've built (maybe a dozen by now)
