LT-40 Blade guide arm gearbox

I'm assuming that this gearbox is on its last leg, opinions?

Not an actual gearbox but the motor is geared down and also there are bearings in the cogged sprockets that drive the chain.  You will need to isolate to see which is noisy.  If it’s a sprocket a good “hosing down” with a spray lube may be all that you need.

Could be a dry chain.  WM told me to lube with ATF, which I do every day of operation.

I think oil it , check that it is aligned properly and keep sawing until it dies. Sounds ok to me
