The crown looks fully filled out but outer bark is flaking off covering the ground. The pics are a little dark even though they were taken at noon. Other WOs are not doing this.

I suspect that it is a climbing critter living up in the crown that is knocking the scales off.
Oh, its good that the tree is not diseased. Maybe its only a squirrel
