We have had over 3 inches of rain in the last two days but I was determined to get the last big cherry out of the bulldozed wood pile. (Land developement >:()

To my surprise, what I thought was the last log, turned out to be one of 10 logs I found.  Each time I pulled one out, it would expose more of the bottom of the pile and wouldnt you know, there were cherry trees stacked 10 deep in that brush pile.

They have been there for about 9 -12 months.  I know the first batch I cut came out great so I am hoping the same for these.  I will start milling them Wed. and hope to post some more pics.  Using Doyle scale looks like I pulled out 1600 bf today.  Not bad for a wet days work 8) 8)

Does cherry make good gun stocks?  If so, what sizes are best for gun stocks?

Thanks
Kirk
