Woods is getting pretty wet but we are still cutting and decking wood, it will get hauled after things dry up and road restrictions get lifted. This weeks pile so far... Going to run out of room to deck at this rate. There is about 2 inches of mud and water on the road but under that its frozen solid still.

The piles of wood i see you CTL guys put up makes me want to add a Rolly + 8 wheeler and forget pulling cable + wading thru the snow.  ;)

In NH the price of hard wood pulp is up, and a big demand for hardwood mat logs. The firewood guys have a hard time to get loads of wood . Is it that way where you are?

Nice indeed, ML88!

1270d, this processor operator is getting about 100-150 a day. 90% of it is being cut for 100" stud wood, production would be higher with logs obviously. This operator has never got to cut wood this nice before, so he may be experiencing a slight learning curve dealing with the height of these things, or more so the length of the stem once they hit the ground. It's nice to forward, whatever the case, not to mention it's only 15 minutes from home 8)

Thanks! Yeah I plowed around it with the skidder. I haven't been so fussy with the pulpwood this winter but the nice logs I don't wanna leave any valuable wood behind. On a normal year I try to cut everything low I hate riding over tall stumps lol

In the mop-up phase; I called-in an Arborist to drop this Douglas Fir tree as it was so close to my well-house (for my confidence level). The pic was taken @ 10 feet past the point where the tree top fell, the stump is just above the well house.

Tough work; clearing the limbs off my reprod by hand, and a couple were scuffed-up pretty bad. I got a bunch of fire wood and my quality cuts plus trim were: three 30" X 8' logs (@ 1,100 B/F), two 20" X 12 footers (@384 B/F), a 20" X 20 footer (@336 B/F), and three 16' X 8 footers (@ 216 B/F).

The tree turned into a "School-Marm" @ 24' up.

I'm using this site and the Doyle Scale; however not officially-so  ;D

We use the FF tables for BF volume. No reason to link off-site as you suggested.

Are we seeing the well house in the pic? Or is it out of the pic ??

Yesser!

The well house is on the left in the fore ground; home is in the background.

What is an FF table?

I've been cursory-searching for a way to guesstimate my B/F.

Thanks

It is a 562xp and yes it has flippy caps there a little different than Stihl caps tho. You can still put the old style caps in if you don't like the flippys.
