The bed is 10' and there's not quite 2' between it and the cab.  I've never measured the cab to axle length  :)

mine is 60" ca with a 8ft m g combo sander body. the hoist is in the front so its a pretty tight fit. next time i would like a longer wheelbase. 12" longer would be good but ford dosent offer it

Your customers buy firewood at this time of the year ?       Nice pics !
Make sure you know how to fall properly when you fall and as to not hurt anyone around you.
Also remember, it's not the fall what hurts, its the sudden stop. !!

Nice looking timber jacks!  Always thought that processing fire wood on the job was a good way to save a lot on trucking. Nice job! Work safe!

This is the third job For this client. She has got nice timber to be cut and this lot has est 60 mbf on a small 10 acre section. Its' a prescription cut leaving some 12" pole wood( pine) and  all hardwoods. I guess I would call it a semi-shelterwood cut. A lot of directional felling and the Pine is good. And yes I have been waiting and wanting to cut this pine for a long time and that time is now here. A real privilege to be wackin and stackin this timber. The pic is two trees, lopped in half, 4 pieces =1,200 bd/ft scaled at landing ,not including pulp..

Woodhauler, no they did not. If I had my own truck to load them on a trailer I might do a bit better than what i am getting from a somewhat local mill. Not many truckers around here to load trailer and by the time I pay them to load it's the same from the local mill. i feel it's better to keep a relationship going with the local mill as they have a good fair scale and I will be at this for a while still and having that relationship with them is important. Is Irving paying around $400 for this kind of Pine at the mill?
