One of the wettest summers on record here and now a wet/soggy fall. Rain and 50's the last few days. Hard to get any farming done, also hard to get much logging done.

We've got 1 day to go and we'll be done corn till next year!  Here in NH it's been super dry.  Pretty sure our honorable weathermen recently said we're down over 13inches of rain this year.  We don't want it all at once but we sure could use some rain!  Well, maybe after the next couple fairs...

...said we're down over 13inches of rain this year.

We've had 13 inches in the last few weeks. Going on 1" since yesterday morning and calling for another 1 to 1.5 inches by wednesday. Woods is getting very wet, figure the DNR forester will be out tomorrow to shut us down until it dries out.

When I left the house this AM we had about .25in of rain.  Unfortunately it was tapering off.  That will knock the dust down but won't make a difference in our overall deficit.

It doesn't matter if the pile is straight, the logs get cut in 1 metre long logs immediately afterwards and loaded on a truck. It's all firewood.

Knock down some hemlock for "deer habitat".

Unfortunately stuck driving truck, wood prices just came back, hoping to be in the woods next week.
Picture of the hole this morning, about 80ft so far, going down 205ft.

BargeMonkey, maybe this has been stated already, but what is that hole for? And what a miserable place to be all day, down in it. How many days has the project been underway?

Bargemonkey, you ever had trouble with that saw bar hanging down on the skidder? I bent one when a pole raised up while driving over it.

Trying to salvage the logs from some doomed white pine before they die. Trees like this one with the big Blister Rust canker on it. Between the blister rust and weevils my pine has a tough time.
