How many bd ft of 4/4 wood like poplar and maple wood that dried to 20% or less can you put in a Nyle 53.

The manual says 300 Bdft when dead green, but usually I'll put in 600 when mostly air dried, say under 20%. Typically, it'll do a load a week.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Be smarter than the sawdust

Under 20%, I usually put in 750 - 900 BF, no matter the species.

How about mixing them up?

Better not to, but I do it.  It is a matter of practicality.  I have not had any issues if they go in air dried.  From green, there would be many more issues.  I have not mixed green loads, just air dried loads that are around 14 - 18% moisture.
