I remember one of the other members running a 24" bar on there 026...don't remember who though. The ms 290 that you just traded for has more hp by a little over the old 026. Your best bar per hp will be a 16 or 18, any idea what size trees you will be cutting with it. Full and semi skip chain is available for .325 x .050 chain it may give you better performance then a full compliment chain, if your bar runs .050 chain. All my .325 bars run .063 but the there are .050 bars available for the 3003 mount that all pro and larger farm/ranch saws run...possibly not the 241 though.

The guy had a 026 too but wanted more for it. Plus tge come up alot for sale around here. There's a 026 forsale acrossed the river for $180. But i will run this saw until i need more dink and willloom for a ms390 or 044 down the road.
When its time to get a different bar im going to go to a 20". But get a $50 bar or spend the $100 on sugihara lightweight 12mm with replacable roller tip.. But that will be down the road.
Ms270c (18"bar), ms440 (18" bar)
