Title: shake in eastern hemlock

What causes shake in Eastern Hemlock and can it be detected before milling it?

It's usually soil bacteria slowly climbing up the slowpoke tree. Look at the end of the butt cut and start dropping iff firewood length chunks till you rise above it. That will get the obvious stuff but look closely before thinking you are out of it.
