A customer ask me about storage of a couple live edge slabs he coming to get. He's wants to put them in a metal building that gets hot during the day. He said he goes in and out of it several times a day. I was not sure how to answer him, I would guess it would be ok. They have been out of the kiln for a month or more.

I'm in IL.  Very hot and humid these days.  Some find it hard to believe it can rival the hot humid weather in the south.  I have un-insulated Morton buildings I keep my wood in.  You go in there and it's at least 10 degrees warmer than outside.  It's like a kiln sometimes in the summer.  For whatever reason, things seem to dry pretty well in there.  If it's stickered I don't get mold growth, but I suspect it acts like a solar kiln  sort of.  Dries slow, letting it relax at night.  When fall comes, the air is then very dry.  If I put 4/4 or 5/4 in there in the summer, by December it's dry to 10-12 percent.  I do want to build some solar kilns to see If they will dry down to 8%.
