Anyone have any suggestions for winch won't winch in. I have checked and there is no grease on the clutches. Checked relief valves, still think it is hydrolics. HELP...

Bert

The teeth wore off the fiber discs on mine and would not winch in. The teeth wore off because the they were not turning perfectly round due to a bad drum bearing. Not sure what the technical term is for the hydraulic "pressure bearing" that compresses the discs together but if that wasnt working or not getting hydraulic fluid that would do it to. I'd check the discs first though.
Saw you tomorrow!

How are the gears on the opposite side of the clutch?  Worm gear and large bronze gear and others, drain and oil and look for self destruction should be quick check.

Yea what they said.  Eatons are simple winches very easy to rebuild and 10 years ago were even fairly cheep to rebuild.
