Running a nile 200 kiln. Can 4qt hard and soft maple be dried in same batch? What kind of problems could be expecded. Help would be appricheated. Tks.  Homer

You can do that but it would be better to do them separately. The soft gives up water so fast that it is difficult keeping the hard maple drying fast enough. If you don't dry green hard maple at close to 5% a day you lose a lot of value. However, if it as all air dried below 25% it doesn't matter much how you mix loads

Waaats the starting amc? of eachish?
Either way if  theys equil , I'd use the hard maple sched. since it is slightly more squeemich to a kiln.
