What is this, the bark looks almost tulip poplar to me but the leaves are definitely not.  I have a couple of these that were left by previous loggers and I had marked it to save this time but the current logger decided to put his skid trail right next to it so so long bark! :'(

Looks like it, saw it up, all ours are dead now.

yup, Ash. Some good wood in that green tree, looks like it grew sideways though. You should get some fine lumber out of it. Cherish it. Ours is all bug killed too.
