Having a tough time with dry wood termites.
I am in central Florida
Solar kiln must not get hot enough to kill them.
Looking for suggestions
Is there an effective chemical that can be applied to dry lumber that will kill these pest?
Calling a pest control company is not an practical option for me as wood is constantly coming out of the kiln and in some cases may sit for months even years before we build a piece with it.
Bora Care is typically a product used to treat already dried lumber.
You can augment the heat in your solar kiln for sterilization. A search of the archives should take you to some posts regarding this.
Heat is the sure thing for killing bugs. I use multiple 500W UL listed shop lights, about $20 each at Lowes.
I'd start by looking at modifying your solar kiln. I would think being in Florida you should be easily able to get the kiln to a high enough temp to kill all bugs.
