What is up with this oak

Is this normal for oak saplings

That would get the firewood treatment on my land.
Looks like it got hit and is suffering.

Hit with???? It is only a two inch sapling so no fire wood in it but there are 50 more like it

Could of been hit by another tree. I have had trees fall onto other trees and cause damage. Could be a wild animal too. Deer ate the bark off it,scraped it's horn on it? Porcupine?

I'm having a hard time telling what exactly the problem is. It looks like you took a picture of the corky enations of a bur oak. Which is normal.

I have 200 8 years old macro carpa oak ( big fruit) and the bark looks just the same, they are tortured  :D like yours.
