I started milling late today. I put the log on, figured out where I was going to open it, and started my first cut.  Sawed 12 inches and kissed the upright.  So I went and got a new band and put it on, fired it up, started back into the cut, right into the same upright!  One of those days...

If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

Don't ever try that with a circle mill.  I usually do something dumb about 4 every afternoon.

Sounds like a good reason to quit working at 3.

Finish the job and put it out of its misery. Then you wont hit it anymore

It really sucks the will out of you when that happens.
But we have all done it.

How did the log saw out?

Brad_bb

The log was fine, sawed it out to 6" live edge brace stock.  The operator was the problem.

I don't feel so bad now for trying to enter two logs....without the band turning!  :(
Kinked one band, but I think the other is ok.

First thing yesterday, when I put a fresh blade on, I lowered my clamp.

And finished the two mantles.
