Hello everyone,

I am wondering how many of you charge by the hour.  There have been many posts about advantages and disadvantages, but wondering what some of you all charge in your area.  I am doing some tractor work for a guy about 4 miles down the road and there are about 12 to 15 (and maybe up as many as 20)  Firs all about 30" to 40" that are going to come out prior to any excavation.  Got a great place to set up the mill on site.  I have not done any work with the mill for anyone else yet, just been cutt'in on my own place.  Thanks for your input.

Mark, I charge by the board foot sawed.  I cut primarely Douglas Fir, myself, and found that the method of charging is the best for me here in the mid Willamette Valley.  I recently went up a cent a foot for Fir a few weeks ago, from 23 to 24 cents a board foot.
