Starting from cuttings?

I have four species of trees with sucker branches that need pruning.  They are Gingko, Swamp White Oak, Red Oak and Walnut.

Is it reasonable to cut the suckers off and root them?
Will cutting suckers off create problems at this time of year (late July in mid-west)?
What medium would be best to use if rooting is possible?

Thanks for your expertise.

No problem cutting off suckers this time of year. I don't know about Ginko or Swamp White Oak, but Red Oak and Walnut are very unlikely to regenerate from cuttings.
