Working seasonally for the Forest Service out here in Oregon, I overheard some fire managers the other day praising some of the Forests in the Southeast for being so organized and consistent with their fuels reduction burning. (Apparently here in OR it's harder to bring that about, for whatever reason). Do national forests in southern states consistently get funding for prescribed burning? If so, this is something I'd like to involved in this Autumn when my seasonal job is up here and I'm back in TN. Anyone got any contacts? Thanks!

The prescribed fire season here is in the dormant season, from late December to early March.
