I use the JSCAN Ap and an ODBCII reader with blue tooth tech to calibrate and/or change settings on mine.

On a Jeep sidewalls are important!  Most run 17" wheels for that reason, someone running 20" wheels isn't 'wheeling' their jeep ;)

I'm working on a video for this weekends run but here's a little short for those interested ;) I'm rescuing a Bronco (who doesn't love that?) he's actually very experienced but the soft sand sucked him into this situation.

But the point is to join a 4x4 club in the area even if you don't intend to wheel.  The folks there often have take offs and knowledge you can draw on.  Probably someone interested in the lights and heck, might even trade for a set of wheels.  Clubs are great and the right one may be like ours which is what I call 'Mild to Wild' -- we have rigs that couldn't get out of the parking lot to get where I was and we have rigs that could walk right over the bank the razor was on.  But we have lots of folks who will jump in and help sort out mechanical issues, have parts to give away or sell cheap and who are awlays there to help with information.

Cheers!

I took the light bar off today.  When I disconnected the wires, I neglected to tighten one of the nuts back down.  When I drove it later i got a check engine light.  I didn't realized what was wrong til I went to buddy's with a scanner.  The code was for cooling fan open circuit.  We found the loose nut and tightened it.  Light went off on its own and hasn't come back.  That was dumb.  New tires will hopefully go on  tomorrow.  295/75/16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT.  I will buy 5 tires and do a 5 tire rotation schedule.  I've never done it before, but it seems like a no brainer.  I just need to rotate the tires often.430311521_786944276672731_6428332626210824107_n (1).jpg

I try to rotate every 5k miles and always have to tell them to rotate the 5th in as they will often ignore it if you don't.

Nice looking jeep!  Congrats!  ffcool

Bill the only thing I would suggest if you haven't already is to change all the fluids just in case the Jeep has been drove some where it shouldn't have been. I have seen a lot of water in rear ends over the years.  Nice looking Jeep and I hope all goes well with it.

I got new tires on the Jeep(it needs a name).  I like these tires much better and they are so much quieter.  The guy I bought the jeep from only drove it on nice days and and I believe the most offroading he did was on his gravel driveway.  He also had it in the local dealer for 100,000 service and it had all fluids replaced including diffs.  That was a $2500 service.  I'm pretty confident it is good as far as that goes.  I will look thru the service records on it and see when the last oil change was.  I will do the oil changes on it.

I had my mom in it today.  The second time she rode in it, I got a stool to help her get up in it.  I guess I'll just carry a stool with me everywhere.  Honestly it isn't any taller than my truck, but the truck running boards are actually useful for getting in.

Awesome!  I have to have a stool for mom in either of our jeeps but they are both on 35's and have 2 1/2- 3 1/2" lifts  smiley_smug01

Just a reminder, when doing your own oil changes, use good synthetic oil and quality filters.  Some reason these motors do not like el cheapo's. (not that I think you'd do that).

jeeps are fun, different and well, cool :)
Congrats!

A little folding stool will do nicely.  I believe this to be a 2 1/2" lift and my tires are 33".  The old ones were more like 34".  The last piece of the puzzle is to calibrate the tire size.

I've been thinking about something to put on my Jeep.  My business is Wildfire Woodworks.  Cindy suggested just calling my Jeep Wildfire.  Perfect.  She made me some decals for the hood and helped me put them on.  I also asked for a Stihl and a Woodmizer decal for the back window.  That took her a few minutes and we put them on.  She's really good with the Cricut.
