Woodslabs

Hi All,

I thought i would share the progress on my Solar Kiln build.  The dimensions are 21x12 on the inside.  Thank you all for answering my questions which helped me a lot in the design.  One issue i have not solved yet is how i can insulate the louvers and how i can open and close them easily (as the building is tall).

Please provide your feedback and let me know if you have any questions.

Looking good Woodslabs!
The glass/plastic panels have some edging or seam material. Can you tell us what they are and where you got that material?
Also, most kilns have waterproof covering on the inside walls - what have you got planned for yours?
Nice work, I like the size and layout a lot.

The panels are a poly-carbonate panel that have air channels in them that heat up and work to insulate the panel. The connectors i got with the panels from the plastic panel manufacturer in Hamilton Ontario.  As for the interior i plan to use Kiln seal paint:

Great looking Kiln, thanks for posting pics. What kind of capacity are you planning on drying at a time?
