Title: Tractor Mounted PTO Chipper
Post by: PJ65 on May 29, 2019, 08:15:52 AM
 Morning!

New to the site. Located in the western US and the buzz word around here is defensible space around summer homes and cabins.  Looking to buy a a 50 HP range tractor and mount a pto disc chipper.  I have no experience with pto chippers so looking for a little advice.  Material chipped would be 4 inches and less as most everything else could be put into corral poles or firewood.  Ran cable skidders in my younger days, but a tractor just seems more useful for small jobs.  Also looking into a farmi winch down the road as well.  Any input much appreciated.

here is a topic from last year Pto driven chipper in Forestry and Logging (http://forestryforum.com/board/index.php?topic=100164.msg1553040#msg1553040)

sounds like your question is right in line with what the other topic was discussing.

I run a 10" on a 45 PTO HP machine. If you have any specific questions
