Hood tagalong slasher issue

My buddy bought a hood tag along slasher.. the blade is not running fast enough.. it stops in the wood. how do you make the blade turn faster?  thanks

You find out where the pressurized hydraulic oil that gives the saw sufficient torque to tear fiber is bypassing before it does its work.  If it has a case drain port put the drain hose in a bucket and see how much volume is coming out. Thats oil not doing work and it shouldnt be a lot.
