I posted this in my other thread but don't think many people will look at it.

Does anyone know if a 5147927 detroit flywheel will work in place of a 5124627.  Starter ring gear is the same teeth, and it has 16 holes for fiber gear, just looks different.

style I have is dished

Style I am looking at no dish, (sorry for the small photos)

i'm wondering if the balance is the same.
whats wrong with your FW?

I don't think this one will work.

My fiber gear holes are wallowed out, and I had to put 2 inserts in two of them last time.
I wanted to replace it just for peace of mind, but no one can even find me one.

The fiber gear was still solid after 6 months of use, so I think I'm going to reuse mine (like I have another option)
But I am going to use longer bolts than come in the kit.  I think I can go 1/2 inch longer.

The one I was looking at here I think might not be as thick either.

So, of about 5 sources that were looking for me, none could find any used flywheels.  New is 3K.  Well thats not entirely true.  One guy had two, but the distributor said he was asking an astronomical price, and then said, he was not willing to sell them.  Then I got a quote on an 8 bolt for $1100
and they could drill the other 8 holes for a total out the door of $1200.  That was for a used piece.

I think I will just put longer bolts in and let er ride.  I don't have a numbers matching 69 camaro ss barn find to trade them straight across. :D

I don't see as to where the dish would make any difference. The only thing I would be concerned about is the depth from the face into the end of the crankshaft, narrower or wider would be an issue to where the torque mates too.
