does any know where to get the metal screen filter for the tranny jd says it obsolete  the one I have is plugged solid I have tried every thing I can think of to clean it but nothing is working  think its a 1974

Did you try burning off the residue, either propane torch or oven?
Or is the mesh too fine?
Maybe an acid bath?

Try Wenger's in PA. They have lots of used parts.

Go to the Wix filter site and do a search using the parts look-up. They show 2 different transmission filters and you can get any local parts store that sells wix filters to get them for you.

Yes try Fluitek out of TN, they make obsolete filters. I couldn't get a hydraulic filter for my 132 Franklin last month and they set me up.
