how to : beach inspired porch swing

just got back from the family vacation at panama city beach.decided to do another porch swing but with some beach flare.

rough cut wood to start.3 2x4x8',2 1x3x5'ish,1 1x6x9'.


 

pieces cut(front), extra wood left over(back).1 64" 2x4,2  each 20",16",15" 2x4,4 1x3 13",2 19" 1x6.



 

pieces edged and planed.

sub flame assembled. 64" out front,16" 's out back,15"'s out sides.

i used 1x8's instead of wide slabs for the bottom and back.and also added the beach theme of aqua colored stain.



 

back braces(20" pieces) added. the angle is 22degrees.



 

back pieces stained.these are 64"'s. the bottom ones were 54"'s.



 

back assembled and arm rest braced put on( 4x  13" 1x3(2 3/4))



 

arm rests on, cup holder holes cut(3")screw holes plugged.
