Here's a 20"dbh spruce I climbed and removed this past week.
It was standing dead full of budworms.
The tree unknown to me was fractured twelve feet up the trunk.

Kevin

I thought it was the budworm but it might be a borer of some kind.
White worm about 1/4"dia. and about 1 1/4"in length with a brown head.
Like this ...

Ya got yer mill set up near a cotton field ::) ???
That could'a been a nasty fall, if that thing had seperated. LUCKY ;D ;D

Looks like you're making him walk the plank.

Fla._Deadheader

That right there now, is a REAL plank. It is about 16" at the small end. It sticks out of the water about 15'. The water is 12' deep and there must still be 10' of log stuck in the sand.
We're gettin a little skittish about pulling it completely out. Might drain the river and we would have to walk 9 miles back to camp ::) ::)

Stump Jumper

That was cute!  Had to take a double take to actually see the worm move I thought I was seeing things.  How did you do that?
