G'day Guys,

This is a Pukeko (Poo-kek-o), that happened by my humble abode this morning.  Amazing bird, very gangly legs, and they can run fast too!  The Kiwi Road-Runner! ;D
They do fly, athough only for short distances.  As I grew up, I learnt that if you want to eat one of these, you put an axe head in the pot with it, and when the axe head is soft, the bird is ready.  Or the variation on that was when the axe is soft, throw the bird away and eat the axe!! :D :D
So there are plenty of them around......  They like wetter areas.

Cheers
Charlie.

G'day Tom,

Hey, Im impressed!! :D ;)  Go to the top of the class.  I especially liked the quote:
Their take off is labored, they are awkward flyers, flying with feet dangling and often crash landing into a tree or scrub. [/b]Thats so true!!  And their squark/shriek is something to be heard.
Again, good effort. ;)
Cheers
Charlie.
