Like a lot of new people I have been lurking a while and decided to jump in. I purchased a used WM LT28 this weekend and look forward to making piles of sawdust and hopefully a few good pieces of lumber in the process 😀. This forum has tons of great info so keep it up as I have a lot to learn!

Privacyleech, welcome to the forum. What's the plan for the lumber?

My girlfriend runs her own remodeling business and has an addiction to building :) I think she is more excited about my ability to make her framing lumber, siding, flooring, etc than I am about sawing logs to make it. Needless to say we do not have a shortage of projects that the mill will help us accomplish.

Congrats on the LT28!!!! Lacey's Spring south of Huntsville?

Yep I am just south of Huntsville. Seems to be the tree service capitol of the state so hopefully I can get my hands on some of the extra logs they bring off their jobs.  8)

Hello Privacyleech, and Welcome to the Forestry Forum.

Thanks for all the Welcomes! Ill try to check in and post from time to time. I really need to work on getting out of the day job early enough so I can have some time to mill before the sun goes down. . . thinking about adding some of those fancy new LED worklights to the mill setup so the stars can't stop me from working  :D

I'm a Civil Engineer for Redstone Arsenal (Army Base in Huntsville, AL) during the work week and saw "Uncivil Engineer" in something I read and thought it was clever . . . maybe its not, but I like it lol  :D
