Board and Batten siding

As  far as siding I had some portions that were reverse board and batten the some that was Masonite .The house is brick but areas around a bay widow and porch used some form of that material .When I put an addition on a few years it was all replaced with cement board .Which is in effect fire proof and they say will hold paint for at least 20 years .Won't rot ,the wood peckers would hate it ,carpenter bees etc can't drill those nice 3/8" diameter holes every where making it look like Swiss cheese .

The LP had problems when it first came on the market.
Now it has the glue like in advantec plywood. 
I have had great results with advantec products.
