got a call the other day from the people at a local mill asking if i would come down and cut a 9.6m (32 foot) 6x2 from a recycled power pole.

i used there equipment first i had to spot a flat on the log with a rickety old lewis saw (i think sold as D&L in the us) that can only take 6m so had to put it in on an angle and do one end at a time.

then over to the bench to break it down further, now life would have been much easyer if the log would fit between any of the posts and the tailout rollers were longer, but we got it done none the less.

but not something i would volunteer for again.

That song makes me want to come over and visit. Just to see what kind of trouble I could get into.

Bibby I was going to say the same thing Mate  it gets my goat when people order long lengths and pay a 30% premium to get them then rock up and say could you please dock them in half so we can get them home  :o ??? ::)
