This was my first try ripping lumber. There are a lot of questions about ripping chain and I have had a few myself so I posted the video so you can see a sharp chain throws big chips with little effort. This chain is 10 deg. I have graduated to a larger saw and a logosol mill.

Sthil 041 Farm Boss. 30 inch Oregon bar with a ripping chain. Eastern White Pine. Works good ,with a little practice you can cut nice beams and boards.
