These 2 red oaks are browning / dying on the side nearest each other. Any ideas?

Could be drought.  Could be root compaction from the vehicles.  Could be a combination of both.  Could be a disease.  Not really anything that you can do about it except give them supplemental watering and hope that they respond.

Watch any other red oak nearby. Could be oak wilt which is a quick killer of the red oak. Have your local conservation district, state, or extension forester take a look at them.
