first Kale harvest

Friday, Fried kale in low fat bacon fat... with fried potatoes.

Saturday, boiled kale with potatoes and hamhocks  8)

Sunday, kale rolls. 1 pound of hamburg and 1 pound of sausage mixed with liberal amounts of onion and garlic rolled in kale leaves, rolled in alum foil and tossed on the barby until done.

Dehydrated 5 pounds of kale for future use :)

Its a test in reality, I figured if I thought something strong enough it might come true. And lets face it, low fat bacon fat would be a god send.  :D

Modat, the first harvest of the year is always the best.  I just harvested a 10-foot row of radishes last week, and so far I've harvested a couple pounds of broccoli off of eight plants.  I don't even like broccoli or radishes, but I eat them anyway because they're so fun to grow ;D ;D ;D

I've dehydrated several batches, gave away several batches and still have some in the field. Next year I won't be planting as much LOL.

But I must say that dehydrated kale tastes just exactly the same as fresh IMO. Tried it this weekend, and it takes up about 10 percent of the space.

Now my turnips are coming on. Bean plants are lookin nice this year.
