So we throw firewood into the basement and leave it piled loose, kinda like firewood jenga. Safety everything up to that point. My habit has been to feed the woodstove in house slippers, which caught up to me after 40+ years...

Now that its been x-rayed, lanced, and toenail removed, I will be wearing my steel toe Wellington boots to feed the stove....lessons learned the hard way.

I did not fall, there was a GRAVITY SURGE!

OUCH! I did that with a can of pork and beans from the top pantry shelf. Fell and hit perfectly on edge on my next to my big toe toe. 2 years later and it is still trying to become normal.

The first mobile sawing job I did was to take my sawmill 10 miles up the road to my son's house. He and I were carrying a 12" diameter X 6' long log and he dropped it on my toe and it looked a lot like the picture. To make matters worse the next week we went to load the mill up and he dropped a landing gear right back on the same toe.

I feel for you and hope you recover soon and complete.

MM- Thanks....I think

To add insult to injury my heart went into afib(again) so back to the ER(again)...
The ER nurses liked my bloody toe wrapped in a plastic WalMart bag.... "But lets work on that heart first"...good times

All is well, heart converted with med adjustment, just a little gimpy.

Owwwww an ouch. That's going to be awhile healing up  hurt_smiley.

Rita bought a new couch and in moving it in we had to lift it over a railing, got it to the spot she had picked, she lost grip I then dropped my end onto my left big toe. 2 yrs later I walked into the room and wacked the right big toe into the same corner. The first was 11 yrs ago and it's just now growing again. The other 9yrs, is doing the same. I think the new drugs I've started are the reason their rejuvenating.

 Ouch!!! upnut.

 Y'all have a great day.

Geez upnut! I've passed over reading this topic several times, I saw "bruised toe" and I thought "so what". I think you kind of understated it! That toe looks terrible. On the upside, you don't have the worst looking feet aside from the flattened toe. I have some really gnarly, scaly things that are best not seen😊
Too many irons in the fire

I've got beautiful feet, except for the toe next to the big toe that took the beans. I've never said anything for worry of stirring up envy.
