DIY wood treatment 6x6 post to concrete conection?

Has anyone ever used Rustolems CreoCoat black? I'm planning to build a barn soon, and was thinking about treating the first 2 feet of the bottoms of  my 6x6s with CreoCoat or just screwing a 2x6x6 PT block to the bottom of the post.

The treated block or some form of standoff will do the work, the paint is just for pretty. Even real creosote hand applied doesn't get in that deep, that used to be one of my household jobs every summer. The untreated but regularly creosoted deck lasted about 10 years.

If you dont want to buy stainless chairs, you can drill a hole in the slab, knock in a redhead anchor or a rebar dowel, pop an asphalt shingle face down over the stud then drill a mating hole in center of the post to engage the dowel.  The shingle will make a vapor barrier to prevent water in the slab from wicking into the most susceptible end of that lumber.  You can brush on some asphalt or motor oil to the end grain if you want to sleep better at night.  Either will turn termites off.
