Excavator or bulldozer for road building

I would say a dozer for that type work on the type of rocky ground. I have rocky hillside ground with rock out crops and boulders as large as 4'. last week I put in about a 1/2 mile of fire access roads with my old D7e with hyd blade in about 6 hours. I also have a small mid size excavator, pc60 and have used it  before getting the cat, but very much slower and not any smoother.
