Nabbed up this Stihl MS660 this evening quick-fast-and in a hurry...DIRT CHEAP!
Decompression valve is stuck, needs a piston for sure, cylinder looks ok, recoil cover, the plastic plate for the carb adjustment is missing, chain-brake is gone, and a new chain from my 1st inspection.
Yet, I'm happy as pig in slop!!! taz-smiley
Looked online & found that parts are plentiful and mostly reasonable, even the OEM piston/cylinder kits on Flea-Bay.

Tell me is Meteor the next best kit under OEM for this saw?
I'm open to any experiences or advice on this saw.

Now, truth be told this is a lot more saw than what I actually was hunting for or need.
So I am prospect on a good running 044, MS440, MS461, 046 to trade and pay a reasonable difference,
but I'm awfully tempted to take my time (as a project) and get this big boy up a rolling!!

I'm an oem guy when I can afford to be. Heard good things about meteor. You'd probably be better off avoiding dumping money into that heap, send it my way and I'll get rid off it for you...LOL

I have put a half a dozen tanks through an 039 fitted with a meteor cylinder and piston
So far all is good
This saw cost 80 bucks Aus so it doesn't owe me much
The intake port was a bit fouled up from the casting process but cleaned up nicely
I wouldn't hesitate to use another one on an older saw for the price
But if I loved this saw and could afford it...Genuine would be my choice
